Many people prefer wooden driveway gates to metal, whether you choose a traditional or contemporary set of driveway gates, you can be assured our attention to detail to fit and finish.

We offer a comprehensive range of timber gates and matching garage doors. Any style or size of gate or garage door can be designed to meet your specific requirements. We offer bespoke designs, hand carving for house names  and can also hand forge bespoke decorative hinges to compliment your gates.

Our wooden gates are hand crafted with traditional glued mortise and tennon joints with dowel fixings. Each gate and door is hand-crafted by a single joiner ensuring continuity and the complete ownership of the delivery process.  As a final touch, we add a brass plate to the inside of each gate with the name of the craftsman who produced your gates.

We have installed many beautiful timber driveway gates across Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire, Essex and London and believe we have one of the best portfolios of wooden gates in the country to prove it.

Softwood Timber Gates

Our softwood gates are manufactured from Scandinavian Redwood joinery timbers as this makes for an extremely cost effective gate solution. All our softwood gates are green ACQ pressure treated to ensure long term protection against rot and no further treatments are required. However, paints and wood stains can be applied at a later date purely for cosmetic purposes. Renzland Powergates Ltd are happy to do this in our workshop before the gates are fitted at additional cost.

Please be aware that Scandinavian softwood is prone to natural movement, expansion and contraction as well as an element of shaking in the timbers, especially if situated in exposed locations. Movement is not in any way detrimental to the products and will be off-set by using appropriate two-way adjustable hinges.

Hardwood Timber Gates

Iroko- In most instances where our client requires a heavy duty hard wood Gate, we recommend using kiln dried Iroko timber. This is an extremely durable West African timber that does not require any treatment and has minimal movement. Iroko hardwood timber gates are partly inconsistent in colour due to the species type, however all timbers will naturally weather down evenly over a short period of time to a silver grey colour. Wood stains or oils can be applied to prevent unsightly staining due to rainwater, although this is only for cosmetic purposes.

Oak-  Oak is quite simply one of the most beautiful and durable timbers in the world, ideal for either traditional or contemporary driveway. Oak is a natural wood product and will weather down to a to a beautiful silver color. Alternatively, it can be oiled to retain its original colour. We use seasoned oak to ensure minimum shrinking or expansion however it should be noted that oak is prone to some movement. Oak is more expensive than other hardwood timbers such as Iroko.
